Q: Will I have to pay any duties or customs?.
In most cases, our international customers do not need to pay additional import duties or taxes when receiving their order. If fees are charged by your local customs authority, they are usually minimal and must be covered by the customer.
We do everything we can to ensure a smooth delivery process so you can receive your gear without unexpected costs.
Q: What is our returns policy?
We accept returns within 30 days of purchase provided the item is unused, clean, and in original packaging. Q: Do we offer custom gear?
We do not offer customer gear
Q: The item I want is out of stock. When will it be available again? Do we have extra stock not shown on the website?
At Neve Gear, the stock shown on our website is the only stock we hold. If it’s not available online we do not have stock.
When we sell out of a product, it’s usually because we’re working on improving the design. Innovation and testing take time, so we don’t provide restock dates until new stock is confirmed and on the way to us. At that point, the item will be available for pre-order with an estimated restock date, this stock will be the exact same as the previous stock unless specifically stated otherwise.
If an item is out of stock and no pre-order option is listed, please assume it will not be restocked.

General Quilt Questions
Q: How warm of a Sleeping Pad do I need?
Sleeping pads are a critical part of your sleep system. R-value recommendations:
- Above 5°C → R3
- 0°C → R4
- Below -5°C → R5 or higher
(Pad R-values are additive, so a 3R pad + 2R foam pad = R5.)
Q: How are our temperature ratings determined?
We use women’s comfort ratings. Men and warm sleepers can usually go ~5°C lower than the stated temp.
Q: What temperature rating should I get (-2°C vs -8°C)?
- Women / cold sleepers: base your decision on the quilt rating for safety.
- Men / warm sleepers: you can push 5°C beyond the stated rating.
Q: Why don’t we use hydrophobic down?
High-quality untreated down retains its natural oils, which repel water indefinitely. DWR-treated down washes out quickly and may reduce long-term performance.
Q: Are quilts good for side sleepers?
Yes, quilts are often preferred by side sleepers as they allow more natural movement and help prevent getting tangled in your sleep system, which is a common complaint with sleeping bags.
Q: What’s the difference between 850FP Duck Down and 950FP Goose Down?
Performance and longevity are the same. 850FP duck down quilts are slightly heavier, but much cheaper.
Q: Will pad straps damage the quilt fabric?
No. With over 5,000 quilts in use, we’ve never had a warranty claim for clip damage or clip related damage.
Q: Can I use your quilts with wide or mummy pads?
Yes. The included adjustable straps fit all standard single-person pads.
Q: Should I size up if I’m over 6ft or a stomach sleeper?
- Up to 6’½” → 6’ quilt usually fine.
- 6’1 and taller → size up to 6’6”.
- Stomach sleepers who are 6’ should size up for comfort.
Q: Are our DWR coatings PFC-free?
Yes, from 2024 all our fabrics are 100% PFC-free.
Q: What is down fill power (FP)?
Fill power measures loft (CUIN). Higher FP = lighter, fluffier, more efficient insulation.
Q: Can I add overfill?
No, we do not offer overfill on any of our quilts.

Q: What sizes do our packs come in?

Q: Are our packs waterproof?
The fabrics we use are highly water-resistant, but we always recommend using a pack liner for complete protection in sustained rain.
Q: Can I add extra storage to my backpack?
No, however our packs come with hip belt pockets and shoulder strap pouches to add flexible extra storage options.
Q: How do I choose the right pack volume?
The wallaroo features a roll top design making for a smaller volume for shorter trips and full 50L volume for longer trips. For weekend trips, 35–45L is generally sufficient. For multi-day or winter trips, we recommend 50–65L.
