I love the quilt, especially the feel of it. The only thing I disliked, was that the drybag broke the first time I was using it, without putting any pressure on it at all, so that felt quite cheap. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

I bought this quilt (-2C) for a multiday trip in colder conditions in Norway and It held up extremely well. The mounting points for the pad straps on the side are higher which increases comfort a lot, I actually didn’t get cold air in once while sleeping. At about 1000m high and negative C it has been at the edge of being to warm (paired with a wide rect. 4R+ pad), I normally like it warm, but there was also no wind that night so I opened up the bottom cord to stick my feet out, at negativ C! Awesome Quilt!

I rang to order 2 sets of quilt straps for myself and a friend who are going to NZ and staying in huts, so they needed to fit a standard single mattress, not a smaller hiking mattress. We have hiking friends who did this a couple of years ago and they received the correct size larger straps. I explained this was what I wanted and why when I ordered over the phone and was disappointed to receive 2 sets of straps exactly the same size as what we already have. When I rang I was told that they don't manufacture bigger straps any more. I had to cut the clips off the straps supplied and buy the same size elastic as the clips and re-manufacture my own. However, the only elastic I could buy that fit the clips was very expensive and very heavy, which is not good for ultralight hiking, which is why my friend and I bought the Neve Gear quilt in the first place. Very disappointed with the service and extra cost and weight - this could have been dealt with much better.

I hope our support team’s explanation on connecting the new straps to your existing ones to create a longer strap was helpful. That said, I completely understand how frustrating it is that the straps don’t fit NZ hut mattresses by default. We’ll be addressing it in our new Waratah range to make sure the updated pad straps are long enough for this use!
Really great quilt. I've taken it down to 0c and was toasty warm. The foot sinch and zipper work well to keep heat in at the feet, the only thing I've noticed is the zipper will be cold when first getting into it, but usually warms up along with you as you stay in it. The pad straps take a little getting used to be work surprisingly well. It packs down really well with the provided stuff sack. The colour is a really nice blue. It's a little darker than the photos on the website, which i definitely prefer. 100% recommend this quilt.

This quilt rocks! I bought two of them about a year ago for my gf and I as our first ultralight quilts and they've been fantastic. I've brought bring them car camping, backpacking, bikepacking, and even to outdoor concerts, parks, and random other things. My gf loves hers to death, and I enjoy mine a lot, but I very sincerely wish it came in a wide or even an ultra wide version. I have a 51in chest and this quilt does not cover me when I roll over; it lets in a lot of drafts (unless I'm laying still on my back). I will still enjoy bringing this quilt to non-camping events, when I want to go ultralight camping and don't care about warmth, as an extra quilt for car camping, and to loan to a smaller person when they need an awesome quilt. Please make wide and extra wide options, me and all the other large humans would greatly appreciate that❤️

This is the perfect quilt for me. I have tried a few other brands and once I got this quilt, I sold the others off. I am a tall person with wide shoulders and this quilt fit me perfectly! I can't say enough about it!

Love it! Comfy and smooth
My partner is a cold sleeper and she always struggles with camping. 3 nights on the West Highland Way with the Waratah - she said she's never been as warm and comfortable whilst camping! Overnight temp got to 2 degrees C. I was worried she would need the -8. but the -2 was more than enough. Very well designed quilt system, can't fault it. Ridiculously packable and light (600g)

Very nice feel, light and airy, while providing a lot of warmth. Slept well in lows of 7°C and 8m/s wind with both doors of my X-Mid open for most of the night and one closed when the wind shifted. I had the collar clips open and the strap loosely around the sleeping pad. Based on this, I'll be interested to see how far into the autumn I can push this one before breaking out the -2 degree quilt. Very happy with the purchase!

Used the Wallaroo Pro on a weeks hiking trip in Tassie. Brilliant design. Shoulder straps and hip belts are super comfortable. The two strips of padding on the back makes it more comfortable and breathable than similar packs too. The material is really robust and can handle bush bashing. Especially their use of fabric for pockets vs mesh that my previous pack has. Hip belt pockets are huge and can take loads of snacks. The flexible pockets on shoulder straps are really functional too. I used a 500ml soft flask in one and phone in the other for easy access. The soft flask worked really well for me. I like this better than having drink bottles used while walking on the side or a bladder system. (although this pack has opening for a bladder system). I even liked the stash pocket at the bottom of back for putting in wrappers etc after eating snacks (thought it would be a waste of time before using it). Really can't fault it. Not part of this review, but I own the Warratah quilt as well which is fantastic and way better than any sleeping back I've owned. If I had one request for the designers, it would be to add a little pocket inside the quilt for battery packs and water filters for storage when camping below freezing.

Having owned a handful of quilts from different brands (Hammock Gear, Katabatic, Thermarest), I can confidently say the Neve Waratah is the best value. The design details make all the difference: the baffle orientation, lofty draft collars, overbuilt snaps, and effective pad strap system allow it to stand out from the competitors that are $100 more. The construction quality and materials aren't quite top tier, but they are perfectly satisfactory. Thus far this quilt has served me very well and I expect it to continue to perform well for years to come.

Most comfortable sleep I’ve had outdoors! The positioning of the clips is genius, I’ve had zero drafts but can still move around easily. I’ve used it in Irish winter and Summer and slept like a baby. The shipping is also very reasonable compared to other companies. This is the real revelation!

I just wanted to write a quick review so those who are considering the pack have some more information. I’ve just taken the pack away for the weekend and used it on the Main Range walk in Kosciuszko, where I carried approximately 13 kg. Overall, my experience has been good. I opted for the large size pack, as my back measurements fell between both medium and large, and the guidance when I was buying online was to size up, so I did. The pack feels good, the materials are good, and the shoulder straps are generally well-constructed and comfortable. The hip belt pockets are easy to use and well designed for actual phones. The 4-way waist strap design works great and makes getting a good fit much easier. I imagine it works well for ladies as well. Personally, I wish there was a bit more waist padding. However, in its current state, it’s still good and is what you would expect for a lightweight backpack. The pack is comfortable to put on and has the range of adjustment you would expect from this style of pack. I find the back comfort foam okay. It’s not a game changer, but I find it nice to have, as it keeps your back off the Ultra 200X fabric. The snack pocket on the underside of the bag works well, but I do wonder about the long-term durability of this approach. No issues thus far, just wanted to point it out. I believe it is similar to Atom packs, so might be worth seeing how those packs have been holding up if its an area of concern. The front pocket on the pack is massive and can hold heaps, I think I now prefer it to the mesh pockets found on many other packs. Things to note: I did notice a few loose threads ends that hadn’t been snipped off, but I don’t think that will impact the functionality of the backpack just a bit disappointing for the price and a first production run impression. Also, due to the nature of going ultralight, the adjustment straps used across the pack were quite difficult adjust at first, but as you use them more, they become easier to move around. Overall, I would recommend this backpack. The pack seems like a mix of the Durston Kakwa and Atom Pack, in a good way. It is also a bit cheaper when considering equivalent fabric.

We bought 4 Waratah quilts for our family of two adults and two kids for our first multi day hike. We’re in northern NSW so felt this was the most versatile temperature rating for us. We all absolutely loved them. So much more comfortable than sleeping bags! We opted for the longer size for my husband and I. Regular length for tall 12 and 9 year olds. The boys slept with theirs open and my daughter and I cinched in the footbox. Perfect! So much lighter to carry! So happy with our purchase!!! Major investment for us but these will be replacing bulky camping sleeping bags that the kids are grown out of as well. So I think they work out great value. Why own multiple versions of the same thing? Kids have used them on the couch in winter. Can’t wait to use them on our next hike. Love the fact that they’re from a local company as well. Cannot recommend highly enough! Bought one for my brother as a gift since. Have told all our friends who hike to just do it buy a Neve quilt they’re awesome 🥳

Just got back from doing a temperature test in Northern BC. I'm American as you will see in the picture of the temperature reading in Fahrenheit. Neve states the rating for the Wartah UL is 40° and at 37° and high humidity I was comfortable throughout the night. I am super excited to use this throughout summer and lighten my load a little bit. So glad I found this little gym.

Used this pack for 5 nights/6 days on overland track at 13kg trail weight. It carried the weight very comfortably and thoughtful design meant easy to access water bottles and other gear via multiple well sized front pockets while walking. All the hang off points of the pack made me a walking clothesline during dry days. Love this pack.

So far so good! Much lighter weight than my sleeping bag and warmer too! Perfect size, straps keep the quilt in place and me toasty all night. I like to leave one side unconnected to allow my dog to snuggle underneath without disturbing me

No -8°C without a Hood. 0°C maximum i think. Wet in the morning even in the tente. The price is still attractive.
Store owner replied: Hi Emile, thank you for your feedback. The default design with a quilt is without a hood. If you're after something with a hood, we would suggest getting a down or synthetic balaclava, or a beanie/buff combination. As for the wetness, it sounds like a bit of condensation had occurred at your campsite. No sleeping bag/quilt is immune to condensation unfortunately. We would suggest keeping things as well ventilated as possible with your tent, but even then, it's just impossible to avoid sometimes!
Haven't had a chance to take it out yet (still winter time here in Utah), but really happy with my purchase. Super light, and fabric is silky and comfy next to skin. Think it will make a great summer quilt. My only wish/request is that Neve starts making the UL version in additional temp options (for three season temps) and with a sewn footbox.

Bought a -2 Waratah for my teen, and a Waratah Pro for me [from the sale area]. Light, warm, and great value. Only used them in summer so far but we'll give them a real test when it cools off in Tas.

Bought for my Teen who has back problems. Works and fits great. Saves a kilo of carried weight compared to his old pack while holding almost the same volume.. Only minor quibbles are that the grab handle feels... fragile. I don't know if it is or not. But I'm reluctant to trust it. Also would be nice to have a couple of loops to attach stuff to. I'll add my own. ;-) That said. Great pack. Great value.

My 13 year old son is a skinny bean pole and we have had great difficulty finding a pack with a hip belt to fit that he finds comfortable and lightweight. The Wallaroo 50L a godsend! It now has been used on many overnight hikes where it has plenty of space for bad teenage style packing, then also stepped up to 8.5 days of food and gear on the overland track with pine valley add on, where he had to think more regarding his packing Tetris but the Wallaroo remained completely capable. The pocket combination and ability to expand or cinch down the roll top depending on capacity required always allows for a neat and tidy look once packing is complete. Each member of the family also has a Neve quilt or sleeping bag and are fans. Love being able to buy well made Australian gear. Thanks Neve Gear!

Absolutely love this pack: it fits like a dream, easy to organise my things thanks to the generous pockets and it feels so comfortable I forget I’m wearing it.
I was looking for a good quilt to use down to about 40F. This quilt looks like it should do the job. I tried it out and it's pretty warm and not drafty. The down fluffs up really nice and has a lot of loft. The foot box had plenty of room for my size 17 feet. I'm 6' 4", and the 6' 6" bag is the perfect size. Even with the sides tucked under me, I don't feel trapped in it. There's a lot more room than a mummy bag has. The bag seems well made, and there isn't any down coming out of it. Overall, a good buy. I'd buy it again in a heart beat.

I love this quilt. It has treated me well on my sea kayaking, hiking, and bike packing expeditions. My favorite part is how small it packs down. This helps a lot when packing it into small spaces in the sea Kayak. It is a super value for the price.
I could not be happier. Not only have I saved over 1kg in weight, compared to my sleeping bag, I was warmer and more comfortable using my Waratah -8. My new go-to sleeping system for alpine Tasmania. The only annoying thing is that it has taken me 56 years to find Neve quilts 😂
I love this quilt, and it’s tremendous value for money. The only reason it doesn’t get five stars is that one of the clips on the pad strap is facing in the wrong direction. That means it doesn’t clip properly into the quilt itself, unless I twist the clip that’s sewn into it. It’s a small thing, but it does bother me every time I put the pad on. UPDATE: Customer service reached out to me and is sending a replacement strap. I’m totally sold on this quilt, and on this company. If you’re thinking about getting one, you should!!
The waratah is one of the greatest pieces of gear I’ve ever bought. Its price new is in line with competitor’s used prices so the value cannot be beat. To my knowledge it has ALL the features of the highest end quilts. Love the pad attachment system and how customizable it is. Draft collar, adjustable foot box drawstring and zipper combo. I have the -8C (18F) and was hot sleeping in my underwear in 35F weather. With thermal base layers I have no doubt I would be comfortable at the temperature rating -8C/18F. I might buy the -2C because it packs smaller and the -8C has proven to be TOO warm for most situations. I’ve had 15 or so nights with this quilt so far and there is no evidence it’s ever been used. Very high level of construction quality. Hats off to Neve gear, amazing product at a beyond fair price.
First test of the Waratah Long -8C went well, 3 nights in Canadian Rockies in early Oct. Pros: The price/value is pretty great considering the cost of equivalent rated UL quilts. Great loft and even distribution of down. The materials and construction looks and feels high quality. Neck and foot box baffles work well. Pad straps are quite effective at sealing out drafts while shifting around. Neutral: it doesn’t pack down super tiny, but that’s to be expected I guess for a Long -8 quilt. I didn’t use a compression sack, which would improve the packed size. Cons: I wouldn’t say it’s comfort rated down quite to -8C. We had slightly below 0C temps (not sure exactly how cold, but frozen condensation inside the tent fly) each night, and I was chilly at times even with some layers on. So if you’re a cold sleeper like me, my recommendation is to go for the colder rated version if you’re on the fence. 4.75 stars!
Purchased two of the quilts to zip together for my wife and I. We just finished a two night backpacking trip out in Yosemite. The first night was ~45 and the second was ~35 storming on our tent all night and even with the damp and temps we were warm. Absolutely well designed quilts and exactly what we needed. We love them so much and probably pie favorite pieces of gear.
Love this bag! Super light and compresses really well. I've found the -2 to be plenty warm in frosty conditions - not sure how cold it was exactly - and comfortable in warmer temps when opened up as a quilt. It might be too warm in the dead of summer. But amazing value!
Have been walking with this pack for past 5 weeks on Heysen Trail. It carries weight really well and is very comfy for me. However one of the load lifter straps kept tearing and eventually fully broke off. Never had the pack close to max weight, reckon the most I have carried would be 14kg. Still like the pack but disappointed with the quality
I took the Waratah -2 on a Winter Overland Track trip last month and loved it! I probably needed the -8 version (as I was pushing the boundaries of how cold I could go) but it was my first ever trip with quilt and I was impressed. After switching now, I don't think I'll ever go back to a sleeping bag. Light, super fluffy, and a wonderful texture, the Waratah is now one of my favourite pieces of gear.
